No-Signal (2016)

No-Signal premiered at the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival 2016

No-Signal (2016) is an experimental short film created by Kim Arthurs.

Celebrate a glimpse of the uncanny in this series of strange encounters, both big and small, that are woven together from an archive consisting of four years worth of footage from a young artist’s life as a college student in rural Maine and Vermont. This experimental short scrapes only the surface of the archives, selectively highlighting a pattern of familiar images, faces, places, and themes that routinely presented themselves.

This is an exploration of a monotonous cycle and a deconstruction of that reality. By distorting these images, the familiar evolves into the unfamiliar, and monotony transcends into mystery.

Featuring an original score by: Nora Wooden
